When Ashley goes to daycare each day, Daycare writes an activity report, at the bottom of each report they have a section were they write a special message.

Todays special message said this:
Ms Emily (Ashley's Teacher) was putting Ashley down for a nap and Ashley pointed at Ms Emily's finger and said "what's that?'. Ms Emily said "thats a ring." Ashley said "mommy has a ring." Ms Emily said Oh really?" and Ashley said "daddy give to mommy."

.....Priceless

Scam of the month

The client who almost got away with it!

We got a call on our phone from a client who said he is "Roy Mers", with some promotional product company located in Beaumont, TX.  He stated he needed to order 1,000 blank t-shirts that he claimed he needed the next day.  He gave us his address that was located in the same state, so no flags were raised yet.  The strange thing is when we asked for a phone number to call him back with a quote he told us that his phone number is hooked up to his fax machine so he could't give it to us.  So he emailed us the specs on the shirts and we replied with a quote. His email was and still being used is: rmers2@gmail.com

After he agreed to the price and gave us a credit card number, we charged the amount of $4,578.98 on it, and it cleared.  He even emailed us his business address that was located in TX, so we were still didn't have any red flags raised.  The next day we had the shirts all boxed up and waiting for pickup from the client.  We sent an email saying the order is ready for pickup.  He called a little later and said change of plans, he stated it would be best for us to ship them directly to his customer and make sure we use his company info on the re-turn address.

His address was:
Boateng Osei
101 Russia Drive
Accra-Ghana-00233
ph: 0245154009

He even gave us his Fedex # for shipping International Priority Express.  Once we received this info he called us back five minutes later and told us that he contacted Fedex for a pickup at our location for his products.  We still had no clue this was a scam.

Fedex came, they told us the paper work would take to long for us to fill out, so we asked them to come in the mooring the next day.  The next morning we got another order for 2,000 more shirts.  Now we had the red flag raised.  Why would this client be buying more shirts before he received the ones he just ordered, we asked ourselves.

I decided to call Visa, after spending time with Visa, we found that the card number was not his nor did the billing adds match.  After Visa, I called Fedex and same story.

If it wasn't for the paperwork taking to much time to fill out or the client getting greedy, we would had shipped the product out.  The shipping on 14 boxes of T-shirts was $7,498.79

Then we also called the company who said he is with, and they told us he does own that business but it isn't him that we had been talking to and the last four digits on the CC isn't matching his.  So the name he is using as well isn't his.

Today that customer thinks we shipped out his product. (we didn't, we told him we did), he thinks he placed another order with us and using another three stolen credit cards, that I reported to Visa again.

My mother who I love and miss so much

August 12, 1943 - June 18, 2012.

Charlotte Wink, 68 of Springfield, Virginia and formerly of Tomah, died Monday, June 18, 2012, in Fairfax, Virginia. She was born to William O. and Eunice (Dana) Von Haden, on August 12, 1943, in Tomah. Charlotte was a member of the Tomah High School graduating Class of 1961. She worked for the United States Army as a Budget Program Analyst at the Pentagon. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, history, and photography. She is survived by her children, James and Diane Wink of Centerville, VA, Joseph and Barbara Wink of Berlin, MD and Thomas and Lori Wink of Richmond, TX., 4 grandchildren Krista, Ashley, Hunter and Brennen, a sister, Esther Sullivan of Viroqua, 2 sisters-in-law, Joanna Jazdzewskiof Hartford Eileen Murray of Kendall, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Raymond, Charles, Jerry and James and a brother-in-law Clarence Sullivan.

Willam Oscar (Bill) Von Haden and Eunice Dana Von Haden were married at St. Mary Immaculate Conception on November 25, 1930. They had six children.  Esther Von Haden Sullivan (my mom), James Von Haden (1934-1984), Raymond Von Haden (1956-1937), Charles Von Haden (1938-1975), Gerald (Jerry) Von Haden (1941-1995), and Charlotte Von Haden Wink (Aug. 12, 1943- June 18, 2012). Great Grandma and Great Grandpa, Grandma and Grandpa, Raymond and Charles are all buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Charlotte’s burial plot is next to theirs.

Jame’s wife, Joanna and Jerry’s wife, Eileen have both remarried.  My mom, Esther is widowed.

Charlotte was baptized, received first communion and penance, confirmed and married at St. Mary Immaculate Conception.  She graduated from St. Mary’s School and Tomah High School.

Charlotte and her ex-husband, James Wink have three surviving children. James Jr. (Jim) and his wife, Diana, have one daughter and live in Virginia.  Thomas and his wife, Lori, have one daughter and live in Texas.  Joseph (Joe) and his wife Barbara have two sons and live in Maryland.

When Charlotte and James were married they lived in California, Thailand, and the Washington D.C. area. Following their divorce, Charlotte and the boys lived in Madison, WI for a year and then returned to Springfield, VA.  Until she retired, Charlotte worked at the Pentagon and raised her sons.

Charlotte enjoyed travelling.  She took bus trips and tours. My mom, my aunt Eileen, and Charlotte took a short cruise together. Charlotte took a variety of classes through a community college’s Learning in Retirement program.  For a while she bowled and took yoga classes.

When Charlotte visited here she enjoyed going on “adventures” with my mom, other relatives and I We did a stained glass walking tour in Winona.  We went to Galena, IL with a stop at Sinsinawa where we walked the labyrinth and meditated.  We visited grottos and shrines.  We went looking for the world’s biggest cookie (in Ripon), and Charlotte expressed disappointment that they had eaten it.  One summer we stopped at every Catholic Church between Tomah and Viroqua to see how the décor updates enhanced or detracted from the feeling of a Catholic Church.

Charlotte enjoyed visiting family. After my grandfather Bill died, Charlotte usually stayed with my mom, Esther in Viroqua. They made a point of visiting my aunts (their sisters-in-law)  and cousins. They played games, especially cards, and visited. Charlotte enjoyed looking at flowers and gardens.  She often commented that Wisconsin cheese couldn’t be beat, and took home cheese curds every trip. Her last trip here was last summer when she came for mom’s (Esther’s) 80th birthday party in July.

Several years ago Charlotte and I started exchanging animal figurines.  She would send me cows, and I sent her pigs. The rules were that the figurines had to be so ugly that they were cute, and they couldn’t cost more than $1.00 each.  On more than one occasion we spent more on postage than on the contents of the packages we sent. When she visited here she would find where I had stored the cows and display them in prominent places expressing great disappointment that I didn’t do so routinely.

Footprints

"Walk a little slower daddy," said a child so
small. "I'm following in your footsteps and
I don't want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you."

Who would have known a blue flower could make so many people, pull over to take pictures during this time of the year.  My family and I had the opportunity to go with some friends up around Brenham, Texas to look for the State Flower called Bluebonnets.

What a great way to spend time with friends and family, we took some really nice pictures with our daughter and also enjoyed the great outdoors during this time of the year.

I lived here in Texas for almost 12 years now, I had never took the time to take the short drive and notice what nature has provided us with. Truly an amazing site, to see so many Bluebonnets growing in the fields.

I encourage you to stop driving and pull over and take some lasting pictures with you and your family with the Bluebonnets.

I hired a company called All Delivered that is located in CA.  They were hired to deliver 2,500 8.5" x 11" flyers to local businesses in my area. I trusted this company because they seemed trustworthy and they had GPS tracking.  Long story short, I was really upset and got robbed from there service, I paid in full.

Being upset from the whole lack of service and no returned phone calls, I could't get anywhere with them.  I still don't know if they delivered my product or not.  I called and email several times and yet no response.  I flushed $800.00 down the drain and the cost of my printed material.

This blog isn't all about this company.  I wrote a blog on there service on there website, there were many others who wrote the same kind of service they went thru.
I didn't have it in me to post something bad, nothing good comes from anything bad.  So I wrote a positive feed back telling others it was part my fault for not looking into the company before trusting them with my money.

I posted saying that one should do research on a company like "All Delivered" before moving forward.

I will hire another company in the future, this time it will be a local business.

Thanks for reading.

I have to remind myself that life sometimes passes by really fast when I don't pay attention to what really matters to me, my family.  Owning a business and doing all the day to day needs to keep it running and up to speed does take a lot of time from you.

Today I was reminded by my daughter, she is only 23 months old and she had been saying so many new words.  We have waited forever so it seemed for her to say please, now she says it perfect and I am sure many new words will follow.

My point is that if I don't sit back and relax and take the time out for my daughter and wife, I too will miss all these little things that mean so much to me.
